World Oceans Day is one of the largest global platforms for ocean preservation public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people across the world. In recognition of the day on the 8th of June, SAB in partnership with Cleansing Solid Waste Unit (CSW) initiated a clean-up of Dakota Beach in Isipingo.

Zoleka Lisa, VP Corporate Affairs says, “As we commemorate World Oceans Day, we are cognisant that our actions today will shape the world of tomorrow. Our partnership with Cleansing and Solid Waste (CSW) is testament to our commitment intentions in playing a role in preserving our oceans and environment. By taking action we can create a positive ripple effect that extends far beyond this single day.”

Dating back several years, the partnership with SAB and Cleansing and Solid Waste (CSW) was established to ensure that we create a cleaner environment in the communities that we operate in. SAB recognises its responsibility to protect the environment and actively engages in activities and initiatives that promote sustainability.

Lisa concludes, “SAB is proud of the partnership with CSW and the various projects initiated to date that are making a difference by reducing impact on the environment. Together, we can make a difference and create a sustainable future for all. So, on World Oceans Day we join millions of people worldwide to celebrate our planet’s beauty, diversity, and resilience.”
