A vibrant buzz fills Tsavo Ballroom hall of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on 11 February 2026, as agribusiness stakeholders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, farmers and innovators gathered for what has become one of Africa’s most influential agricultural forums – the 9th Africa Agri Expo 2026 (AAE 2026) and the 2nd Future Food and Livestock Poultry Expo 2026 (FLIP 2026).

The event kicked off with an upbeat morning of lively panel discussions and opening remarks before culminating in an official ribbon-cutting ceremony that marked the launch of the two co-located events.

The morning session saw a dynamic group of panelists explore pressing issues facing Africa’s agriculture and livestock sectors — from sustainable production methods and innovative technologies to market access and trade integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

This year’s expo shines a spotlight on cutting-edge technologies — from advanced farm machinery and intelligent irrigation systems to AI-powered farm management software and drone technology — showcasing solutions that can drive sustainable growth across Africa’s agricultural landscape.

With an estimated 10,000 targeted visitors, participation from 1,000 agriculture-related companies, 750 senior conference attendees, and delegates from 35 countries, AAE 2026 delivers a global platform for networking, trade and investment.

“We are honoured to take part in this event, where we are showcasing some of our latest innovations—particularly the Rhino baler, designed to support modern hay conservation and efficient management,” said Jerome Cupido, founder of Rhino Baler.

Strategic Engagement and Impact

The event emphasise strategic networking and business growth as core pillars. Participants have access to curated meetings, sector-tailored conferences and extensive exhibition spaces designed to foster high-value connections between brand owners, buyers, distributors and policymakers.

The events also provide a venue for Kenyan counties to showcase their agricultural innovations and investment prospects, leveraging the platform to attract partnerships and enhance regional participation in continental markets.

“We are pleased to be here. This event is giving us exposure across the country and on a global platform. As a cooperative involved in agricultural produce value addition, we see this as an opportunity to expand our market reach,” said Amoko Amoko of Sabatia Banana Farmers Cooperative Society Limited from Homa Bay County.

Organizers of AAE and FLIP 2026 have doubled down on delivering high-profile visibility and engagement, with companies given prime exposure to regional stakeholders and international buyers. Exhibitors and sponsors – including agritech startups, multinational agribusiness firms, and research institutions – benefit from the deep learning opportunities and exposure to emerging market trends, while global investors explore avenues for strategic collaboration.

Looking ahead

As Africa’s agricultural sector edges closer to an anticipated US$1 trillion annual market by 2030, events like the AAE, FLIP expo is more than trade a show — it is a gateway to transformation.

It spotlights innovations that are critical to sustainable food systems and inclusive economic growth, while fostering dialogue and partnerships that transcend borders.

Participants at this year’s expos expressed optimism that the engagement and insights gained will drive stronger agricultural productivity, enhanced food security and increased investment across the continent.

“We are seeking to expand our business across Africa and beyond, and we believe our products—including water pumps, induction motors, and sustainable solar solutions—can significantly enhance agricultural production,” said Pritesh Kumar Soni, Director at Rotacore Limited.

With the event poised to return in coming years, stakeholders are already planning deeper collaborations that could help unlock Africa’s agribusiness potential.
