Tru-Cape’s Henk Griessel of Somerset West
Whatever your passion – healthy living, nature walks, MTB, trail runs, family-centric activities, delicious artisan foods, wines, ciders and craft beers and, of course, apples, May 5 in Grabouw is the place to be.
Tru-Cape Fruit Marketing, South Africa’s largest apple and pear exporter, sponsors two events in the company’s apple and pear growing region of Grabouw.
As a fundraiser for Grabouw High School, the Tru-Cape Grabouw MTB continues as a major attraction on the MTB calendar with the 55km MTB challenge, 27km fun ride and 10km adventure ride for newcomers and children. First race starts at 8am.

On the same day, just on the opposite side of the N2, the Tru-Cape Applewood Trail Run and Harvest Festival raises funds for Applewood Preparatory School.
The Tru-Cape Trail Run offers both an 11km trail, starting at 08h30 through the beauty of the surrounding farmlands, and a more gentle 5km Fun Run at 9am. The scenic routes take you though the apple and pear orchards that surround this beautiful country school. A whole day of activities, food and entertainment is promised for the whole family.
