The localisation drive has received a significant boost with the addition of German industrial conglomerate KSB South Africa to the Proudly South African membership base.
The company’s decision to join Proudly South African underscores its commitment to strengthening local manufacturing, advancing industrialisation, and supporting job creation through increased localisation.
KSB South Africa is one of the world’s leading suppliers of pumps, valves and related services. While the company has been represented in South Africa since the early 1900s through accredited agents, it established a permanent local presence in 1959 to better serve customers, expand operations and support growing market demand.
Today, KSB South Africa is a leading manufacturer of industrial and commercial pumps and valves used across a range of sectors for various applications, for Water and Waste Water, Mining, Energy, General Industry, the Petrochemical Sector and Building Services.
The company maintains a strong manufacturing footprint, producing and assembling equipment at its Germiston facility. Its operations extend beyond South Africa, with companies in Nigeria, Kenya, Angola, Zambia and Namibia, enabling it to provide sales and support services across Sub-Saharan Africa.
“We are proud to welcome KSB South Africa to the Proudly South African family,” said Eustace Mashimbye, Chief Executive Officer of Proudly South African. “KSB’s longstanding investment in local manufacturing aligns with our vision of building a stronger, more competitive industrial base that drives economic growth and creates sustainable employment opportunities. We are looking forward to working together to advance the localisation agenda and strengthen South Africa’s productive capacity.”
Boris Werner, Managing Director of KSB South Africa, said the company’s membership reflects its confidence in South Africa’s manufacturing future.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to contributing meaningfully to South Africa’s economic development. Through our local manufacturing operations, technical expertise and investment in skills, we aim to support the growth of the country’s industrial capabilities. We are excited to collaborate with Proudly South African and fellow members to strengthen local value chains, stimulate economic growth and create jobs.”
In addition to its Johannesburg headquarters and manufacturing facility, KSB South Africa operates nine branches across the country, including in Cape Town, Durban, Nelspruit, Gqeberha, Secunda, Upington, Vereeniging, Richards Bay and Rustenburg, ensuring comprehensive support to customers nationwide.
