Holland Greentech, a Dutch horticultural inputs and advisory company operating across twelve African countries, today published its 2025 Green Growth Report, detailing the company’s contribution to sustainable vegetable production, farmer livelihoods, and resilient horticultural sectors across the continent.
The report shows that in 2025, Holland Greentech sold €3.3 million worth of climate-smart horticultural products — including precision drip irrigation, climate-resilient hybrid seeds, and biological pest control solutions — to some 15,000 customers across Senegal, Ghana, Benin, Burkina Faso, Niger, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and South Africa.
Key results from 2025 include 2,665 hectares of climate-smart horticulture developed, 153 million liters of water saved through efficient irrigation, 14,880 farmers trained in person, 167 government extension officers trained, 9,089 jobs created, and 700,000 people fed for a full year through the resulting vegetable production.

It tells the story of the people we work with every day — farmers, colleagues, and partners across Africa — who are collectively shaping a more sustainable and resilient horticultural sector,” said Eline Talmor, Chief Sustainability Officer of Holland Greentech. “We are only at the beginning. The challenges facing agriculture — from climate change to population growth — are significant, but so too is the opportunity.”
The report is structured around the Green Growth framework, developed by the Green Economy Coalition and the Stakeholder Forum for a Sustainable Future, and organized around five principles: Efficiency and Sufficiency, Good Governance, Justice, Planetary Boundaries, and Wellbeing. Holland Greentech’s work directly supports UN Sustainable Development Goals 2 (Zero Hunger), 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and 13 (Climate Action).
The report also highlights three field case studies: a neem oil biological pest control initiative in Burkina Faso that provides seasonal income to local women and youth collectors; a post-harvest loss reduction project in Ghana that has trained tutors and students across five agricultural colleges; and a biological pest control program in Zambia that eliminated chemical pesticide use entirely over an 8-week cucumber production cycle.
Looking ahead, Holland Greentech has set ambitious targets for 2026, including developing 5,000 hectares of climate-smart horticulture, training 20,000 farmers, and saving 260 million liters of water through efficient irrigation, as the company expands into new regions in Tanzania, Kenya, Ghana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Mozambique.
