Agriculture, community, creativity and the natural beauty of the Cape will come together at NAMPO Cape 2026, taking place at Bredasdorp Park from 9 to 12 September.
Alongside its agricultural exhibitions, machinery, technology and producer-focused programme, NAMPO Cape will offer visitors a rich lifestyle experience through the Santam Landbou Women’s Programme and the annual Fynbos flower exhibition.
These attractions reflect the people, culture and landscapes that give the agricultural community its distinctive character, while providing welcoming spaces where visitors can connect, learn and be inspired.
A bigger platform for the Santam Landbou Women’s Programme. The three-day Santam Landbou Women’s Programme will take place from Wednesday, 9 September, to Friday, 11 September in the Distinctive Choice tent on the lawn in front of the BKB building.
Presented by master of ceremonies Beneschke Janse van Rensburg under the theme “Where farmers, food and community grow together”, the programme will combine inspirational conversations, lifestyle content, food, faith, music and stories of resilience.
Although the programme is created with women in mind, men are also warmly invited to attend the sessions.
Visitors can look forward to a larger tent than in previous years, providing additional space for the increasingly popular programme. A large screen will also be installed outside the tent, allowing more visitors to follow the presentations and performances.
The programme is sponsored by Santam Landbou, with support from CFAO Toyota, Bredasdorp Park, AFGRI, Grain SA, Efficient Group, LIFT, Distinctive Choice and B-Promotions.
Wednesday, 9 September
Beneschke Janse van Rensburg will open the programme, followed by a conversation with Sumarie Jordaan on changing one’s perspective.
Country musician Chris Else will provide the morning’s musical entertainment, followed by Mel die Storieverteller with “Womanhood and Other Dramatic Stories” with Damien Beer.”
Thursday, 10 September
Lynette Beer will present “Seed of inspiration”, followed by Dawid Engelbrecht with “Seafood on the farm.”
The day’s programme will conclude with a performance by Brendan Peyper.
Friday, 11 September
Beneschke Janse van Rensburg will speak to Koben Hofmeyr about his story, “I walk again”.
Music by Franna Benadé will be followed by Willem Botha’s “Get ready, it’s the weekend”.
“NAMPO Cape is about more than exhibitions and innovation; it is also about the people who carry agriculture, food culture and community life forward,” says Burre Burger, organiser of the women’s programme.
“This programme brings those stories to the stage in an uplifting and accessible way. It gives visitors an opportunity to pause, listen, laugh, learn and connect.”
Fynbos and floral art take centre stage
The Fynbos flower exhibition will once again welcome visitors to the Voermoel Hall with large-scale installations, indigenous plant material and creative floral art celebrating the extraordinary diversity of the Cape floral kingdom.
The exhibition is curated by creative floral artist Marjolijn Malan, whose installations have become a popular feature of NAMPO Cape.
The 2026 exhibition will explore idioms inspired by nature and farm life. The creative concept is rooted in the expression: “Birds of a feather, flock together”.
Visitors can expect unusual and rare species, indigenous plants with meaningful stories and fynbos landscapes brought to life through natural plant material and imaginative design.
A highlight will be the floral-arrangement competition, in which established floral designers from Cape Town to George will interpret well-known idioms through their work.
Members of the public will again be able to vote for their favourite display. Votes will be counted after NAMPO Cape and the winning designer will be announced.
Malan’s international recognition adds further distinction to the 2026 exhibition. She has been selected by the South African Flower Union to represent South Africa as a floral demonstrator at the World Association of Floral Artists world show in Sydney, Australia, in March 2027.
The international event takes place only once every four years and is regarded as one of the leading events on the global floral-art calendar.
Through the women’s programme and Fynbos exhibition, NAMPO Cape offers visitors an opportunity to experience not only agricultural innovation and business, but also the music, food, creativity, natural heritage and shared experiences that shape rural communities.
