“Crop Production out of the Box” is the guiding theme of this year’s DLG-Feldtage trade fair, taking place from 16 to 18 June 2026 on the trial fields of the International DLG Crop Production Center in Bernburg, Germany. The outdoor field event features exhibitors and agricultural machinery performing practical field operations. Further technology under real field conditions will be on show in the FarmRobotix exhibition area, which presents field robotics, artificial intelligence and automation in crop production. The FarmRobotix platform highlights how new technologies are advancing precision farming and automated field operations. The exhibition features are complemented by daily expert talks on the DLG Expert Stage. Another highlight of the open-air event, organized by the DLG (German Agricultural Society), is the Field Robot Event, where international student teams compete with their self-built field robots.
The DLG-Feldtage is a leading platform for practical crop production and state-of-the-art agricultural technology. At the event, visitors can experience innovations first-hand. Alongside the large variety of crop varieties, novel field techniques and forward-looking cultivation strategies, the event offers the latest in agricultural and robotic machinery live in field operation.
Live Arena – Field techniques presented up close
In the “Live Arena”, field techniques are demonstrated in a compact and accessible way for visitors. During the live demonstrations, farming professionals gain practical insights, supported by drone images and webcam footage shown on large LED screens. This makes it possible to follow technical details closely and in real time.
Crop protection machinery
During the demonstrations, trailed and self-propelled sprayers travel at 6–8 km/h over a specially prepared, uneven track that generates strong vibrations. The demonstrations show how well suspension, damping systems and automatic boom control compensate for these movements. Visitors can observe how different chassis respond to the track. What counts in the end is how smoothly the boom runs over the crop despite the vibrations. Demonstrations take place daily from 14:00 to 14:40, featuring eight manufacturers presenting 13 machines.

High-tech mineral fertilizer spreaders – performance and precision
Demonstrations on fertiliser application take place daily from 14:40 to 15:05. Seven leading manufacturers will present their solutions for various fertilizer applications across all three show days. Functions shown: Site‑specific application, automatic spreader settings, rate compensation during cornering, precise distribution during border, edge and ditch spreading, as well as modern section control at working widths of over 30 metres.

Tractor operation – efficient and soil-friendly
Whether it is modern engine-transmission management, automatic setup assistants or innovative traction-support systems, these technologies help ensure efficient and soil-conserving tractor use under practical conditions. In the daily demonstrations from 15:05 to 15:30, eight agricultural machinery manufacturers will present their innovations.

DLG Demonstration Tracks – technology compared under practical conditions
On the DLG demonstration tracks, visitors can see technical solutions working directly in the field. Field demonstrations and static machines allow visitors to compare different systems and receive practical information throughout the day.
Mechanical weed control: harrowing and hoeing
Harrowing performs particularly well in fine-structured cereal crops, while hoeing is experiencing a strong revival in maize. Wide row spacing makes maize ideal for hoeing systems. Modern hoes increasingly work with optical camera systems that detect crop rows precisely, enabling accurate steering even at higher speeds. Demonstrations take place daily from 10:00 to 10:50, involving nine manufacturers.

Deep non-inversion tillage for seedbed preparation
Mixing crop residues into the upper soil layers ensures an even distribution of nutrients, improves decomposition and reduces plant diseases, all without destroying soil structure. Mechanical loosening improves aeration, water infiltration and root penetration, allowing soil to maintain its functionality even under extreme weather. Grubbers and deep loosening equipment with reconsolidation systems are shown daily from 10:55 to 11:35, presented by 15 manufacturers.

Direct seeding and strip-till in cover crops or stubble
Both direct seeding and strip till systems are key to sustainable, resource-efficient soil management. Minimal soil disturbance preserves structure, builds humus and reduces erosion. Remaining plant residues improve water infiltration and protect against drying out. Strip-till combines these benefits with targeted loosening and nutrient placement. Demonstrations take place daily from 11:35 to 12:00, with eight manufacturers presenting their direct seeding solutions.

FarmRobotix
FarmRobotix is located in the south-western part of the exhibition grounds. The platform presents robotics, artificial intelligence and automation in crop production. Visitors can experience how new technologies advance precision farming and automated field operations.
On the demo fields, visitors see autonomy and robotics in action. Dedicated areas are prepared for different applications. Autonomous carrier vehicles demonstrate their driving and working processes on specially arranged tillage plots. Robots for weed control operate in young sugar beet or maize stands to simulate realistic field conditions. The surrounding exhibition area showcases modern robotic technologies as well as digital tools and applications.
Daily expert tours provide a compact overview of the highlights in the FarmRobotix area. Participants learn about current products on the market and key functions of innovative robotics and AI technologies. The tours also offer opportunities to speak directly with manufacturers and dealers.

The DLG Expert Stage hosts specialist presentations at 11:30 and 15:30 each day. These sessions offer insights into current research and practical experiences with robotics and AI. On the first two exhibition days, pitching events at 11:30 complement the programme, where manufacturers present their autonomous vehicles and field robots on stage.
Field Robot Event – students from around the world
The Field Robot Event is an international student competition that promotes the development of autonomous field robotics. University teams from around the world design and test robots capable of tackling real crop-production challenges. The aim is to foster innovation, sustainability and the training of future experts in agricultural technology.
The Field Robot Event has been part of the DLG-Feldtage for many years and will take place this year in the south-western exhibition area. On all three days, international student teams compete with their self-built robots across five tasks. More information: Field Robot Event
