NAMPO 2024 witnessed a remarkable surge in attendance on Thursday, May 15, with over 25,000 visitors coming through the gates, marking a massive increase from previous days. And, the reason behind this spike? Well, we believe it was the presence of rugby legend, Kwagga Smith at the Husqvarna stand!
We had the absolute honour of welcoming Kwagga, who was part of both Springbok teams that won the World Cup in Japan in 2019 and France in 2023. With his farming roots and genuine love for all-things Husqvarna, Kwagga was the ideal guest, providing our stand visitors with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage with him, snap photos, and collect autographs. It was the perfect end to an perfect week at NAMPO!
Did you snap a pic with Kwagga? We’d love to see it! Send it to marketing@husqvarna.co.za and stand a chance to win!
Scrum to Plow: 5 Playful Parallels Between Rugby and Farming
- Teamwork makes the dream work: Both rugby and farming rely on coordinated efforts for success, whether it’s bringing in the harvest or scoring a try.
- Sowing seeds for success: Just as farmers nurture seeds through the season, teams cultivate skills during training for game-time success.
- Caring for pitch and pasture: Maintaining the pitch mirrors tending to a pasture, both requiring care for optimal conditions.
*Side note: For pitch maintenance, try the Husqvarna Automower® 520. For pasture maintenance, try Husqvarna TS 242D Garden Tractor. - Tackling and wrangling: From tackling opponents to wrangling livestock, both activities demand strength and skill.
- Seasons: Like farming, rugby operates within seasonal cycles, facing the challenges and opportunities each season brings.
