FoodFlow, a sustainable agriculture program by Enviu , celebrates its selection by The Finnish Innovation Fund, Sitra in Europe as one of 30 innovations championing circular solutions to combat biodiversity loss.

The announcement, made at the World Circular Economy Forum 2024 in Brussels last week, showcases Enviu’s innovative contributions to addressing systemic inequalities and environmental challenges in East Africa. By applying circular principles, Enviu demonstrates its commitment to creating sustainable solutions that benefit local communities and ecosystems.

As we tackle biodiversity loss, Enviu is honored to stand alongside other pioneering companies driving change across Europe,” says Dieuwertje Nellisen, Chief Programs Officer at Enviu. “Our circular business ventures in East Africa exemplify our commitment to building a more sustainable and equitable future.” The recognition underscores the importance of collaborative efforts to develop circular business models that deliver tangible benefits for both nature and society. Enviu’s inclusion on this esteemed list reflects its dedication to creating impactful solutions that address global challenges.

Companies are starting to see the potential for tackling biodiversity loss through circular solutions, but there is little information out there to help guide them. That’s why we need inspiring examples and action-oriented guidance,” says Riku Sinervo, Senior Lead for Sitra’s Sustainability solutions theme.
