Over 400 exhibitors are expected to showcase at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS), which kicks off Monday in Harare, Zimbabwe at the Exhibition Park.

The premier event will run from August 29 to Saturday, September 3, and is expected to be attended by thousands of farmers, businesspeople, and ordinary citizens.

It is running under the theme: “Unique Business Opportunities, Accessibility, and Abundance.”

Highlights include the Annual Agriculture Business Conference on Wednesday where the Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is normally the main speaker.

ZSA chief executive, Andrew Matibiri said the official opening is on Friday, September 2, and an unnamed Head of State is expected to be the guest-of-honour on the day.

Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa officially opened the event last year.

“To date, more than 400 exhibitors have registered to showcase their products and services to the public,” Matibiri said.

Exhibitors from Malawi, Botswana and India are participating at the event.

“Being a show, it is open to international exhibitors and we are looking at a few international exhibitors coming to Harare. In terms of foreign countries, so far, we have got Malawi, Botswana and India. The official opening will be done on Friday and a suitable Head of State will open the show.”

This is the first ZAS event to be held with minimal Covid-19 restrictions since 2020 following the outbreak of the virus.

“This the first show in about two years since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, other two shows in 2020 and 2021 were held under the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
