Kids take the lead. Missions are activated. And parents must follow orders.

Fruit marketer Tru-Cape Fruit Marketing is breaking new ground with the April launch of Agent Apple, an interactive children’s game show. The exciting format is designed to bring families together through fun, engaging challenges that promote healthy living.

Filmed in the orchards near Grabouw in early February, Agent Apple flips the traditional family dynamic on its head. In this high-energy show, kids aged 8 to 12 become “Junior Agents,” directing their parents through fast-paced challenges inspired by orchards, fruit, and teamwork.

Across eight action-packed episodes, 16 parent-and-child teams compete head-to-head, with two teams per episode tackling a series of timed missions. Each episode ends with one victorious team walking away with an Apple iPad.

Kids call the shots

The young masterminds guide their parents through obstacle courses, quizzes, and orchard-themed challenges — often with hilarious and surprising results.

Challenges include navigating water pipes, sorting apples and pears while blindfolded, searching for clues among the orchard rows, and solving quizzes under pressure. Each episode features two timed challenges, where teams earn points based on accuracy, speed, and teamwork. It ends with a quiz, where each correct answer adds a point to the scoreboard – keeping contestants on their toes up until the very end.

What makes the show unique is its role reversal: children take control while parents must listen and follow instructions, creating entertaining moments and strengthening family bonds.

A fresh way to connect kids with fruit

The concept was born from Tru-Cape’s search for innovative ways to connect younger audiences with fruit and farming.

“We were looking for new ideas to market fruit to children,” says Conrad Fick, Marketing Director at Tru-Cape. “The core theme of Agent Apple is family, fun, and healthy living. By putting kids in charge, we created a format that is playful, engaging, and educational at the same time.”

The show also offers viewers and consumers a glimpse into life on a real apple and pear farm, with challenges filmed directly in the orchards.

“It was incredibly rewarding to see the excitement and appreciation from participants experiencing a working farm environment for the first time,” the team explains. “It’s also about giving back to the community and showing that we are a brand that truly cares about our customers and consumers.”

Roelf Pienaar, Managing Director of Tru-Cape, says Agent Apple reflects the company’s commitment to finding innovative ways to connect with the next generation of consumers.

“By combining entertainment, education, and a real orchard setting, we’re able to showcase the journey of our apples and pears while reinforcing the importance of healthy choices and family experiences.”

Coming to screens this April

Agent Apple will premiere in April 2026, with full-length episodes available on the company’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/@Tru-cape), while shorter highlights and interactive content will be shared across its social media channels.

The show blends entertainment with storytelling, offering a fresh digital platform for showcasing Tru-Cape’s products, while encouraging families to enjoy fruit as part of a healthy lifestyle.

With gadgets, orchard missions, and plenty of juicy action, Agent Apple promises to deliver a fun new viewing experience — where the youngest agents are firmly in charge.
