Brazilian fish farming grew by 4.7% in 2021, producing more than 800,000 tons of farmed fish, according to a survey by the Brazilian Fish Farming Association (PeixeBR). One of the reflections of this increase is the demand for the construction of dug watertights, in the land, reproducing the natural environment of the pieces or covered with albañileria. The care in the construction of these structures is fundamental for the success of the creation of pieces. Precast Flor do Campo and Sorrimetal, both companies in the State of Mato Grosso, carry out excavations, among other activities, using the Link-Belt excavators.
Pre-Molded Flor do Campo, based in Guarantã do Norte, has been associated with Link-Belt since 2016. Currently, the company has two excavators of the X3 series, models 210XE3 and a 210X2, to provide excavation services, land movement , drainage and removal of stumps. The company’s director, Márcia Galon, says that the excavation of the water tanks involves different processes and that the Link-Belt equipment is both productive and economical. “We have found that the X3 series has low consumption of diesel and low maintenance, in addition to being versatile in various processes, without sacrificing productivity”, analyzed the director.
Sorrimetal, with units in Sorriso and Sinop, provides services for the construction of watertights and works in the manufacture of metallic structures. The co-owner of the company, Gilberto Geraldo Brandalise, pointed out that the combination of agility, economy and durability are the Link-Belt differentials. A customer of the brand since 1988, it has used the 210X3E models as allies of Sorrimetal’s various operations, mainly to serve fish farming, including opening fish.
The versatility of the X3E series is attributed to the different working modes, which guarantees precise control over all the machine’s applications. For jobs that demand a high rate of use of the machine (for example, large loads), the selection must be in SP mode (Priority for speed). On the other hand, the H (Heavy) mode is indicated for jobs where it is necessary to have the entire engine pair, producing a high excavation power, being a work mode focused on power and economy. Finally, there is mode A (Applied Power), which has as its purpose a total economy, with 13 different RPM settings, being ideal for activities, from lifting, finishing slopes, loading and light excavation.
Attention to Pre-Molded Flor do Campo and Sorrimetal is available by SP Máquinas, Link-Belt distributor in the States of Mato Grosso and Pará. Customers add that security and operator comfort are also essential factors in equipment selection. The excavators cabins have certifications of the ROPS and FOPS (OPG) international security standards, rear view camera of series on the table, series refueling pump and five work lighting points. The RemoteCARE® telemetry system compiles information on the performance of the excavator in the field, compiling data from fuel consumption to engine temperature, as well as information regarding maintenance.
