Multi-crop seed provider Pannar Seed will be featuring its new yellow maize hybrids, PAN 3P-900PW and PAN 5P-902PW, at NAMPO Harvest Day 2022, arguably one of South Africa’s most anticipated agricultural events of the year, held in Bothaville in the Free State. The hybrids contain PowerCore™ technology, a high-performing trait that effectively helps protect crops from damaging above-ground pests such as the maize stalk borer and spotted maize stem borer.
“We understand that one of the most important and difficult management decisions to make is what hybrid packages to plant,” says, Nick Goble, Business Manager, Pannar Seed. “Our ultimate aim is for farmers to gain maximum profitability and growth through access to innovative products that will help them get the most out of every hectare of maize, while still ensuring environmental sustainability.”
Pannar also will debut a new tagline at the exhibition, changing from “Together we farm for THE future” to “Together we farm for YOUR future”, which better represents the company’s steadfast commitment to producers.
Adds Goble, “Producers are an asset of great value and play a vital role in the ongoing prosperity of our country. Agriculture safeguards our food security, strengthens our national economy and can have a positive effect on education, training and the development of entrepreneurial potential; all while helping to supply jobs directly and indirectly to a large percentage of our population. At the end of the day, it all comes down to the producer. At Pannar, we recognise the demanding nature of the industry and the support and dedication required to make it work in order to shape a resilient future.”
With Pannar’s latest product portfolio, farmers will continue to have access to world-class genetics and leading trait and germplasm packages, but will also be able to choose from a focused set of premium hybrids, selected to produce consistent and reliable results. PAN 3R-900PW, an ultra-early yellow hybrid based on PAN 3R-500R genetics, is suitable for high potential dryland production regions and has an attractive plant type with effective standability, low ear placement and good grain quality. As a new genetic platform in the medium early growth class, PAN 5P-902PW is characterised by its low ear placement, good stalk strength and standability. It also performs well across a wide range of yield potential levels and plant populations.
