Residents of Kitwe’s Ndeke community are the latest to benefit from Zambeef’ s ever expanding network with the opening of its Ndeke Macro outlet.

Multitudes of customers thronged the opening of the second outlet in the first half of this year, as the nation’s leading food producer continues to make good on its commitment to provide quality, affordable and sustainably produced local products.

Speaking at the launch of the outlet the Kitwe District Commissioner and guest of honour, Mr. Lawrence Mwanza, commended the company for increasing the number of outlets in Kitwe to make its products even more accessible to the residents.

“As a District we would, therefore, like to congratulate Zambeef for the expanding its reach on the Copperbelt, in general, and Kitwe in particular. As Government, we are desirous to see continued expansion of the company’s footprint in its mission to bring fresh and quality food products to the wonderful people,’’ explained Mr Mwanza.

Mr Mwanza further highlighted the importance of having thriving homegrown businesses such as Zambeef and the wider economic impact they have in generating revenue for government, employment for local citizens, provision of ready market for local farmers as well as the multiplier effect in terms of the number of households and businesses that benefit as a result of the direct and indirect linkages with the company.

Zambeef currently employs more than 7,000 employees and has over 250 retail outlets, in addition to its Shoprite instore butcheries, dotted across the country and in West Africa.
Furthermore, the company’s earlier announced expansion program of USD $ 100 million – with most of the capital development expenditure slated towards doubling capacity at the Zambeef Mpongwe Farms on the Copperbelt – will see the food producer’s participation in the Agri processing landscape increase.

Mr Mwanza concluded by noting that the newly constructed outlet was a significant advancement that reflected the modern and consistent high standards pursued by the local manufacturing sector.

He, further, encouraged residents to buy locally produced products and help grow the economy.

Zambeef – Manager for Commercial – Retail, Mr Nathan Chishimba, relayed thanks to the Ndeke customers as well as residents of Kitwe District for their incredible support during the opening as well as over the years.

“We did this for the simple reason that we want to provide quality goods and service to our customers of Kitwe, Ndeke community. The success of the company is intertwined with the fortunes of the country and the people. It is for this reason that we take time to express our gratitude to the Government and the Zambian people for the continued support’’.

In addition to the various outlets spotted across the town, Kitwe also hosts Zambeef’ s Kitwe Processing Plant which is its second largest distribution centre after Huntley Farm in Chisamba.
