Nigeria has received a China-aid Nigeria Agricultural Demonstration Centre project as China’s contribution to the development of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
The Ministry of Commerce China donated facility project and handed it to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Chinese ambassador to Nigeria Mr Cui Jianchun, handed over the project on behalf of the Ministry.
Agricultural Demonstration Centre
The center, which was constructed by the Chinese government worth 2.8 billion is located in the Ushafa village of the Bwari Area council of the Federal Capital Territory. it is set to provide opportunities to farmers and government officials and deepen and broaden the two countries’ relationship.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Minister of State For Agriculture and Rural Development, Mustapha Baba Shehuri, said the effort signifies collaboration between the Chinese government and the Nigerian government, stressing that China- Nigeria long -standing friendship has led to rapid and remarkable achievements between the two countries in the areas of economy, trade and other fields of life.
“The Chinese government is handing over this project to support Nigeria to develop a more modernised agricultural sector because our people believe that a technology-driven agriculture industry really means a lot. Nigeria has great potential for agricultural development, and there is a need for machines, technology, among others, to achieve it,” said Chinese ambassador.
