SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has been awarded a new three-year Pre-Shipment Verification of Conformity to Standards (PVoC) contract by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS).

Now in effect, the contract covers exports to Tanzania from the China Zone, which includes Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mongolia and Macau.

Under the contract, SGS will continue to provide conformity assessment services, including laboratory testing, through its global network, supporting the TBS in its efforts to reduce the importation of substandard products from the China Zone. The work is intended to support public health, safety and environmental protection, while promoting fair competition for local manufacturers in Tanzania.

The contract renewal reflects SGS’s established role in delivering conformity assessment services at scale for the TBS, drawing on its global network and technical expertise to support compliant trade from the China Zone into Tanzania.
