The Nairobi International Trade Fair has commenced, resuming after a two-year break occasioned by the Covid-19 outbreak.
President William Ruto is expected to officially open the show on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 while Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja will open on Tuesday. This year’s theme is “Promoting Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade.”
The event is taking place at Jamhuri grounds. Ag Inspector General of the National Police Service Noor Gabow has called on people attend the show and equally visit the NPS stand,
“Come and interact with your servants and get to know what it takes to secure you and your property. We shall be on call to take all your questions” he said.
Kenya’s economic blueprint
Last week, the Agricultural Society of Kenya leadership team led by the Nairobi Branch Chair Joseph Mugo paid a courtesy call to Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja who together with his Deputy Njoroge Muchiri are the official Patrons of the Nairobi show.
“It is great to see the Nairobi International Trade Fair back after two years due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, and more pleased for this to be happening in my first year of administration. It is about time that Nairobi reclaimed its position in the region as the preferred destination for our international trading partners,” Governor Sakaja said.
He stated that trade and agriculture play a critical role in Kenya’s economic blueprint, more so in Nairobi which sits at the centre of connecting and promoting two-way trade between Kenyans and other like-minded trading partners across the globe.
