Masta bearing housings offer exceptional quality at a highly competitive price
Leading supplier Bearings International (BI) continues to secure distributorships with leading international brands to boost its product portfolio, and allow it to offer customers complete solutions. The latest brand to be added to the company’s stable is the Masta Group of India.
With a 70-year history, the Masta Group has established itself as a leading manufacturer of bearing housings. Based in Ahmadabad in Gujarat, it is a self-dependent manufacturer boasting in-house production facilities, complete with its own foundry and machine shop.
As a result, the Masta Group offers robust quality, backed by highly trained and experienced personnel. The products are manufactured meticulously, including advanced materials testing and inspection techniques. In addition, customer-specific designs can be accommodated, thus offering a full in-house bearing housing service.
BI Business Unit Head Ross Trevelyan reveals that BI ultimately plans to bring the full range of bearing housings to the South African market. “We signed the distribution deal with Masta in July. We anticipate our first stock to arrive in the latter part of 2019, and into 2020.”
First to be introduced will be the standard SN-type housings with standard felt strip seal. “We will also will stock the SNL and SNH range, as well as the SD range of housings, all of which are very common in the local market,” Trevelyan explains. Industries and applications range from materials handling to mining, steel, power generation, industrial fans, cement, pulp and paper, sugar, and others.
“We concluded the latest distributorship in order to be able to offer our customers an alternative choice of bearing housing of exceptional quality at a highly competitive price,” Trevelyan highlights. A major feature of these bearing housings is that they are dimensionally interchangeable with other well-known brands.
The Masta product range will be made available countrywide throughout the extensive BI branch network. It will be backed-up fully by the BI team, with the added support of a dedicated Product Manager to assist clients in product selection and correct use. A design and drawing service will also be offered, as well as product training.
Looking at future opportunities for the brand locally, Trevelyan reveals that other new products will be added at a later stage. “For now though we will focus on the bearing housing offering, and grow this in response to market demand.” He concludes that customers will be advised as soon as initial stocks arrive, in conjunction with a concerted marketing and social media campaign.
