Northmec’s new assembly plant in Camperdown, KwaZulu-Natal, has recently been completed by Macwin Construction and is now fully operational.

“The Capital Equipment Group (CEG) – a division of Invicta Holdings Limited – has made a R59-million investment in the construction of this new plant, which is now home to the Group’s extensive range of agricultural and construction equipment, as well as forklift trucks,” says Tony Sinclair, CEO, Capital Equipment Group, a subsidiary of Invicta Holdings Limited. “This investment confirms the Group’s pledge to support local industries – particularly agricultural and construction sectors – by continuing to expand the product range to meet exact market demand, improve accessibility to equipment and spares and to provide a dependable repair and maintenance service.

“This new assembly and distribution plant reflects significant growth in our business and augers well for continuing development. Northmec has had a 44% growth in volumes in 2016 and a further 37% in 2017, while Case Construction has enjoyed a 38% growth in volumes in the last financial year.

“Despite political uncertainty and tough economic conditions, our commitment to service excellence remains steadfast. The main focus at the new plant is to implement new strategies for advanced quality and stock control and pristine assembly standards.”

The new 5 500 mᶟ building on 14 hectares of land just off the N3 highway, between Durban and Pietermaritzburg, is strategically positioned to ensure swifter delivery times. Machinery that arrives at the Durban Harbour from abroad, will be transported directly to the conveniently situated plant, for assembly and efficient distribution throughout Africa.

Full workshop facilities are equipped with state of the art tooling and machinery to ensure quick assembly and premium quality, according to stringent international standards.

Northmec’s extensive range of agricultural equipment includes Case tractors and combine harvesters, spraying units and a wide range of implements and accessories. Case construction backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders and motor graders are also housed at the new plant, as well as TCM forklift trucks.
