Fan reliability and performance is key

Hugh McDougall: “In this climate fans often run flat out during daytime, at high ambient temperatures and quite high static pressure, too.

Most conventional fans simply can’t cope with that.

But the MagFans, it seems they can run forever and they always have a power reserve in them because that is how DACS designed them.
We can simply turn up the fan speed, should we ever need to, and they deliver massive, constant performance at a fraction of the running cost.”

AFI owner Hugh McDougall explains that MagFan is their big doorbreaker, and with the all-new Solectrifier from DACS they are experiencing a boom in their business

We walk the talk

“When it comes to energy savings, we walk the talk!
We can’t afford the luxury of just talking Green Transition. We must act!
Not only is power expensive, the public power grid is also quite overloaded and fragile so high power consumption may easily lead to power failures.

The MagFans typically generate astonishing savings of 60-70% over conventional fans.
That in itself means lower power draw and consequently a much higher degree of supply stability – and of course a much lower power bill.

Moreover, the fans tolerate a much wider voltage range than do conventional fans, and that is of the utmost importance in a country where a 230V supply fluctuates between 160 and 270V.

Zero power consumption during daytime

AFI were among the first DACS distributors to test the all-new Solectrifier and Hugh sees a lot of opportunity with this new product:

“The Solectrifier is a completely new way of thinking solar power. It feeds solar power straight into the fan, with no conversion losses and no separate inverter.
During daytime, the MagFans can operate on pure solar power, with zero grid power consumption.

It’s a true dual power system. The blending of solar and grid power is fully automated.
The Solectrifier automatically tops up with whatever percentage grid power is required, maintaining solar as the primary energy source but always ensuring optimum energy supply to the fans.

Not only does it save a lot of power. The Solectrifier also relieves the grid and helps maintain a good power quality without voltage fluctuations, and with the added safety of a dual power system.

This is a great asset also when it comes to animal welfare and the protection of our clients’ investment”, Hugh concludes.
